Jean & Pierre Bellin
Jean and Pierre Bellin’s jewelry is highly collectible. Their pieces are artistic and exceptionally well crafted. This French boutique is wellknown in the Middle East and Asia. When JP Bellin was selling jewels in the 20th century, their clients had to be put on a waiting list. Jean and Pierre were grandsons of the brand’s founder, who worked for Cartier first back in the late 1800s. Then they opened their first atelier in the 1900s on 16 rue de la Grange-Batelière in Paris. Jean and Pierre Bellin gained recognition in the upscale jewelry market for their talent in crafting unusual and challenging designs. Even though they were highly successful as independent jewelers in France, a significant portion of their revenue originated from international markets. Their vibrant aesthetic was based on using such stones as emerald and rock crystal, which require intricate cutting. While their primary inspiration was the geometric forms of the Art Deco style, Jean & Pierre Bellin also garnered admiration for their interpretations reminiscent of Baroque art. Today JP Bellin pieces can be found at the expert jewelers and auctions.
